What Does Water Well Inspection Pricing Include?

Water well inspection pricing can vary depending on several factors, but it generally covers a thorough examination of your well system. This includes checking the well casing, pump, pressure tank, and water quality. The goal is to identify any issues that could affect water safety or system performance.

Here’s what a typical inspection might include:

  • Visual inspection of the wellhead and casing for cracks or damage

  • Testing the water pressure and flow rate

  • Checking the pump and electrical components

  • Sampling water for laboratory testing to detect contaminants

  • Inspecting the pressure tank and plumbing connections

Each of these steps ensures your water system is functioning properly and safely. We stand ready to help solve your water problems with complete testing and tailored solutions.

Factors That Affect Water Well Inspection Pricing

Several factors influence the cost of a water well inspection. Understanding these can help you plan and budget accordingly.

  1. Well Depth and Type

Deeper wells or those with complex systems may require more time and specialized equipment to inspect, increasing the cost.

  2. Location and Accessibility

If your well is in a remote or difficult-to-access area, additional labor or equipment may be needed.

  3. Water Testing Requirements

Basic inspections might include simple water quality tests, but more comprehensive testing for contaminants such as bacteria, nitrates, or heavy metals will increase the price.

  4. Age and Condition of the Well

Older wells or those with known issues may require more detailed inspections and repairs.

  5. Additional Services

Some inspections include pump servicing, filtration system checks, or upgrade recommendations, which can affect pricing.

By understanding these factors, you can make informed decisions about your water well maintenance.

How Much Does It Cost to Test a Well?

Testing a well typically involves collecting water samples and analyzing them in a laboratory. The cost can vary based on the number and type of tests performed.

  • Basic Bacteria Test: $60 - $250

  • Comprehensive Water Quality Test (including minerals, metals, and contaminants): FREE up to - $800 depending on your desire to test for heavy metals, pesticides, etc. We use up to 5 labs that are independent from MPS. You will receive a copy of the lab results in your area after we review the emailed results and provide your estimate. The free mineral test we do ourselves includes Iron, Hardness, PH, and Sulfur when needed. We can get immediate results for the free test. Lab tests normally take 2-5 days after we retrieve the samples.

  • Additional Specialized Tests (radon, "forever chemicals" (PFAS), micro/nanoplastics, etc.): can be an additional $150-$350 each, depending on the test package you choose from the lab.

The total cost depends on your specific needs and local regulations. Regular testing is crucial to ensure your water remains safe for consumption and use.
